Case Study
Recently, I joined the Shopee Affiliate Program and shared my affiliate link with a friend. Surprisingly, all the commissions from her orders were canceled. I tried to find the reasons in the app but there were no clear answers. Frustrated, I turned to Google and even watched affiliate tutorials, but all I got were vague possibilities instead of clear, straight answers. This experience was confusing and frustrating, leaving me without a clear answers and proper solutions.
The Problem
Through my research, I identified some key issues:
Unclear Status Update
There were no specific reasons given for the canceled commissions in the app. This led me to a lot of guesswork and frustration. Finding answers took a lot of searching and effort, making the whole process feel unnecessarily difficult.
Missing Important Information
Key details like payment approval and account status are crucial, as declined payments or inactive accounts can cause commissions to be canceled (based on Shopee’s FAQ). However, this information wasn’t available in the app, which forced me to rely on external searches and emails.
The Solution
To fix these issues, I redesigned the affiliate feature to provide clearer information. The new design includes detailed status updates, clear instructions, payment approvals, and account status. This makes it easier for affiliates to understand and manage their commissions without the need for extra searching or frustration.

Here’s my proposed design improvement to enhance the Shopee Affiliate Program experience.
Enhancing Information Flow for Canceled Orders and Commissions
I focused on improving the information on commissions status updates by making minor tweaks to the existing design. The updates now include clear reasons for cancellations and instructions for resolving issues, making everything more transparent and user-friendly.
